To help resist this type of analysis, often times chips have obscurification techniques applied.

Interwoven bus

A simple example is instead of a straight bus running, it is interwoven. However, since this level of analysis is so low level, similar to assembly, automated analysis can often trivially reverse these. For example, a computer program would convert the obscurified bus to netlists, which would be exactly the same after computer analysis regardless of how it was routed (assuming no special timing tricks are employed, which is usually more an isuse for the designer than the attacker).
