Two identical, isolated, independent, high-accuracy delay channels each providing an output which is time-delayed with respect to the input by switch controlled delays of 0.5 ns, 1 ns, 2 ns, 4 ns, 8 ns, 16 ns and 32 ns. Each of the seven slide switches controlling the delay increments is calibrated to with- in +/-0. 1 ns. Each channel may be independently controlled to provide a variable delay of 0 to 63.5 ns in steps of 0.5 ns. The two channels may be interconnected with 50-ohm cable to give a total delay range of 0.5 ns to 127 ns. The output rise time is approximately 1 ns, equivalent to the delay of an appropriate length of RG-58C/U coaxial cable. Attenuation through this transmission line is 0.058 db/ns, equivalent to 0.092 db/foot, at 200 MHz.
The unit is a passive delay requiring no operating power and hence is designed to be rack mounted; it is 1.75" high, 19" wide and 10" deep. Model 21 is completely RF shielded and has an operating temperature range of -55'C to +85'C.
