The free license essentially prohibited command line tool flows which also really annoyed me

Tools

Libero SoC

Libero IDE

NOTE: I had an old version of Libero IDE 9.1 SP3 installed under C:\Actel. I downloaded a new installer + SP3 and it instead installed under C:\Microsemi! I am very disappointed that they would back edit their released versions. This is a nightmware from a reliability perspective becasue I can no longer assert that I can obtain the same software we used to make our last release. I did have an old build and was able to verify that it did give me the same bitstream, but it meant I had to change instructions, some configuration, and other churn that absolutely should have never been an issue.

I do have Libero SoC also installed on this system. If this is an unfortunate interaction between the two I can maybe classify this is a bug rather than a marketing decision that has a critical engineering impact.
